PARENT CAFÉ COMING TO THE JEWEL J. NEWMAN COMMUNITY CENTER

Councilwoman Chauna Banks-Daniel welcomes Magellan Health sponsored Parent CAFÉ to the Jewel J. Newman Community Center, 2013 Central Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. “Parent CAFÉ is here to offer help and support to parents, as well as other family and friends, who want to help youth” said Banks-Daniel. Topics to be discussed include mental health concerns like anger issues & depression, substance abuse challenges, involvement with juvenile justice, and/or foster care‐related issues.

Parent CAFÉ is an opportunity for adults to come together with others, be heard on struggles, and find support. Meetings will include information on community resources, informal discussion on topics important to parents, guest speakers and workshops for parents.

Meetings will begin on held the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning in September, 6:00 p.m. nightly. Light refreshments will be provided.
