BATON ROUGE -- Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (MOHSEP) along with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) will host an Elected Officials Emergency Management Summit for East Baton Rouge Parish on March 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The event will be held at MOHSEP’s Emergency Operations Center, 3773 Harding Boulevard, in Baton Rouge.
“The summit will provide valuable training related to emergency management that will help all of us better prepare for the next emergency or disaster,” Mayor Broome said.
The summit will be attended by City Parish leaders, Mayors, and Metro Council members.
The summit will be open to the media for coverage starting at 12:30 p.m. and the Mayor will be holding a news conference at 1:30 p.m. to announce a new Homeland Security Grant.
