FUTUREBR OPEN HOUSE
PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE SCHEDULED FOR UPDATE OF THE
EAST BATON ROUGE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
Public Input Important to Assure Priorities are Implemented
The City-Parish Planning Commission will host a public meeting for the update of the parish comprehensive plan, FUTUREBR. The Planning Commission encourages community members to participate in the open house to add their voice in our community’s vision for the future. The future land use plan provides predictability and fairness for elected officials, planning staff, residents, and developers; additional elements such as Transportation, Infrastructure, Parks and Recreation, and Economic Development address issues critical to implementing our vision for an equitable, prosperous and resilient City-Parish. While FUTUREBR’s policy goals, objectives, and action items are integral to implement the City-Parish’s vision, public participation in formulating the Plan is the first and most important element. Open house attendees are invited to view maps and displays, talk with planning staff members and provide input on proposed changes to FUTUREBR.
This is the first open house in a second round of public meeting hosted by the Planning Commission to receive comments on the update to FUTUREBR. Additional meetings will be scheduled in the fall of 2017.
The open house will be from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
