Occupational License Renewal
The Revenue Division of the City of Baton Rouge Finance Department has initiated a program to
allow taxpayers that have operated a business for at least one year to file occupational license
renewals and make payments online. Online renewals for occupational license taxes will be
accepted from January 1st to October 31st for each year. All businesses qualified for this option
will be assigned a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that is exclusive to the business on their
renewal application.
Taxpayers who use the program will authorize the City-Parish to perform an electronic funds
transfer (EFT), via an Automated Clearing House (ACH) debit transaction, which will be
processed simultaneously with the transmission of the renewal form. If for any reason the EFT
transaction is rejected, such as insufficient funds in the account or inaccurate banking
information, the renewal could be considered delinquent if this issue is not resolved by the tax
due date. All monetary amounts that are entered to the online system will be rounded to the
nearest dollar.
Tax payment due dates will not change when filing and paying through this program. Any
renewals filed after the due date (February 28) will be assessed interest and penalty, as
applicable.
