GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Director of Aviation or department supervisor, performs advanced level specialized skills in developing affordable and competitive airline fares at the Greater Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. Work involves continuously monitoring the fluctuation of airline fares in and out of the Baton Rouge Airport using the Airline Reservation Computer System, comparing fares with other airports, analyzing and interpreting the Airline Fare Codes, and preparing statistical analysis on the airline fares. Work also involves interacting with travel agencies and conducting studies regarding current travel trends within the travel industry. Work is performed independently and is reviewed through conferences and reports and for results obtained. Performs other work as requested.

ESSENTIAL WORK TASKS
Monitors the fluctuation of airline fares in and out of the Baton Rouge Airport using the Airline Reservation Computer System on daily basis; compares and interprets the Airline Fare Codes. Prepares statistical competitive analysis on airline fares in and out of the Baton Rouge Airport with other southern airports to top fifty cities; compares enplanements for Baton Rouge Airport and other Louisiana Airports; recommends methods where airlines can offer affordable and competitive fares to travelers. Interacts with travel agencies and conducts studies regarding current travel trends within the travel industry. Designs, writes, and publishes airport related articles for quarterly newsletter, brochures, and various other publications. Assists in the preparation and analysis of market research and surveys, including feasibility, air service and air cargo studies; assists in the efforts to increase the availability of competitive airline fares and air cargo services. Coordinates the Airport Volunteer Ambassador Program; recruits, trains and schedules volunteers; promotes community involvement with the airport. Coordinates customer complaints received through various methods; processes the complaint by forwarding to the appropriate local or national representative. Develops and maintain airport frequent flyer rewards program. Makes travel arrangements for airport and city officials. Represents the airport at government and business functions such as the Mayors Can Do Expo, Business Expo, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the travel industry. Knowledge of Airline Fare Codes. Skill in the use of the Airline Reservation Computer System. Skill in the operation of modern office equipment and in the use of standard computer operation and application. Ability to interpret and analyze airline fare codes and recommend methods where airlines can offer affordable and competitive fares to travelers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, airline representatives, travel agencies and the general public. Ability to research and prepare statistical analysis. Ability to prepare written material that follows accepted rules of style and form, is appropriate for the audience, and accomplishes the intended purpose. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to apply good work habits such as punctuality, reliability, preciseness, and dependability in order to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the department and division.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and two years of responsible experience in a travel industry environment using the Airline Reservation Computer System.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

For security reasons, as per TSA provision 1542; all applicant/employees of the Greater Baton Rouge Airport District who have access to restricted areas will be required to have a ten (10) year criminal background check to the extent allowable by the law.
