GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of the Airport Maintenance Supervisor, performs responsible administrative and supervisory work in directing the activities of all airport purchases and supply management. Work involves conferring with vendors for optimum utilization of the inventory budget. Work also involves total responsibility for the receipt and storage of all commodities utilized by the Airport district. General supervision is exercised over subordinate employees assigned to an airport warehouse. Work is reviewed through inspections, reports and conferences. Performs other work as requested.

ESSENTIAL WORK TASKS
Establishes policies and procedures governing the operation of the Airport's warehouse; directs the work of support personnel. Analyzes and evaluates various computerized inventory management reports to ensure proper turnover of stock, correct recording of issues and receipts, minimum stock loss, etc. Orders, receives, issues and stores all commodities for the Airport; completes requisitions; writes specifications for purchases. Prepares budget; maintains perpetual inventory of all stock; conducts physical inventory; maintains all stock records and reports. Determines when to add or delete stock items; establishes minimum and maximum order quantities, stock number assignments, etc. Confers with various vendors regarding specifications, deliveries, invoices, etc. Operates computer access database. Coordinates auctions for retired assets. Supervises employees on purchasing procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of inventory control principles, practices and procedures. Knowledge of modern warehousing techniques. Knowledge of computerized inventory procedures. Knowledge of City-Parish purchasing and requisitioning procedures. Ability to design, implement and maintain an effective inventory program. Ability to analyze computerized inventory reports and apply the data to warehouse operations. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to apply good work habits such as punctuality, reliability, preciseness, and dependability in order to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the department and division.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or equivalent certificate of competency, and four years of progressively responsible warehousing experience.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

For security reasons, as per TSA provision 1542; all applicant/employees of the Greater Baton Rouge Airport District who have access to restricted areas will be required to have a ten (10) year criminal background check to the extent allowable by the law.
